This year, we’re hosting a Premiere preview event along with our new neighbors next door, Mira Winery (www.mirawine.com) and Hoopes Vineyard (www.hoopesvineyard.com). Just to make it interesting, we decided to collaborate on a joint lot of 20 cases – all three of us are contributing wine to the blend, which is largely Cabernet sauvignon from the Yountville appellation.
Jim Dyke, Jr. and Gustavo Gonzalez, partners in Mira, are in the process of constructing their new winery to the west of our property. They have a local Cabernet vineyard source just across route 29.
Lindsay Hoopes took over her family business several years ago, and last August bought the former Hopper Creek, now under renovation. She also has a local Cabernet vineyard source.
About 100 members of the wine trade will be touring Mira and Hoopes, then stopping in at BELL (the white building on right) for a tasting of the joint lot offering that will be auctioned off on the 24th. That’s when the big event happens; Napa Valley Vintners take over the top floor of the Culinary Institute building in St. Helena. It will fill with trade from all over the globe, hoping to take home an exclusive lot. We are Lot 149. Wish us luck!
