SIERRA FOOTHILLS

First planted in 1997 by Dr. Ian and Elena Renner in the Sierra Foothills, this property is now under the care of Sheri and Rob Hendriks who have continued the sustainable farming practices and attention to detail started by the Renner family. The vineyard sits at 2000 feet of elevation and is uniquely situated on a peninsula surrounded by the deep and cool New Melones Lake. The vineyard enjoys a microclimate with warm sunny days and cool afternoon breezes. The well drained shallow, sandy loam soils work well with the Australian clone of Syrah, yielding intense flavored grapes grown on this site.
