The history of Bell Wine Cellars is closely
inter-twined with clonal research initiated at Beaulieu Vineyard in 1980; and the development of Napa Valley appellations.
This section contains a description of the Cabernet clones we use to produce our Napa Valley Cabernet sauvignon, the story of how we began working with
Cabernet clones, and the scientific definition of grapevine clones. The
links above will direct you to specific papers written to answer some of
these questions.
Also within our website you can learn about:
1. Napa Valley terroirs and why they are so important, and
2. Napa Valley appellations (or American
Viticultural Areas) and how they can help you identify the taste in wines
that you are looking for.
